I have a plastic column-nozzle spray bottle that I use to spray alcohol on things I want to clean, such as glasses and phone screens.
I dropped it on the hardwood floor from desk height. After that, it started splurting instead of misting. This made it much less effective at cleaning.
I looked into the nozzle and could see deep inside of it. Previously the nozzle had a milky translucent disc covering the opening.
I looked around on the floor and found the milky translucent plastic cylinder. I gently hammered the cylinder back into the nozzle. Fixed! It mists instead of splurting.
My Googling failed to find this fix, so I wrote it up. I expect my Nobel prize any day.
